About Walden Behavioral Care

What is Walden Behavioral Care?:

Walden Behavioral Care was founded by Stuart Koman, Ph.D., in 2003 as a place of healing that provides individuals living with eating disorders a safe place to receive the support they need and deserve. We have had the opportunity to provide top-quality, evidence-based treatment to more than 22,000 individuals and their families across New England and Georgia.

We have locations in Massachusetts (Amherst, Braintree, Dedham, Peabody, Waltham, and Westborough), Connecticut (Guilford), and Georgia (Alpharetta and Dunwoody). In October 2020, Walden opened its Center for Recovery, a new state-of-the-art hospital located in Dedham, MA. Walden’s Center for Recovery is the largest 24-hour inpatient and residential care facility for adolescents and adults with eating disorders in the United States.

Walden prides itself on its welcoming approach and treats people with the same level of excellent care regardless of gender, sexuality, race, or socioeconomic status. By accepting both private and public insurance plans, Walden seeks to provide access to treatment for all.
