I enjoyed working 1-on-1 with researchers and project managers. I learned a lot about the field of research and how to present information concisely and also thoroughly.

Advice

I would suggest taking every opportunity given to you. Shadow everyone you can, ask questions, participate in classes, talk to other students. Be involved and make a good impression!

What I liked

I really enjoyed all the learning resources and opportunities working at Cincinnati Children's had to offer. It was a great learning environment that has contributed well to my studies, and I am planning on returning in the future.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have had time to learn about the other department's research that is ongoing at the hospital. It would have been interesting to see what other labs or projects are focusing on.

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions - this is how I gained the most understanding about various protocols, processes, etc.

What I liked

I like my co-workers. I feel we all work well together as a team and communication is clear.

What I wish was different

Management is difficult to communicate with and I had to interview and speak with many different people before I even began onboarding.

Advice

It is a great organization to work for however it is healthcare and psychiatry therefore it's difficult work and easily can lead to burnout.
