Talent Solutions Intern

May - August 2022 • Atlanta, GA

What I liked

I really liked that the internship included personal and professional development days where interns had the opportunity to listen to speakers and network with individuals across the company.

What I wish was different

I wish the internship was in-person. It was hard to build relationships with other interns in a remote environment.

Advice

Take advantage of the personal and professional development opportunities that the University Relations Team organizes for the interns. Go out of your way to network and connect with individuals across the company. The internship is amazing, but what you get out of it is also based on what you make of it.

Business Operations Intern

May - July 2022 • Atlanta, GA

What I liked

This was a huge opportunity for me. I loved the comcast culture that they showed all of the interns. The activities and gatherings that they held really made the virtual internship feel more personal. The compensation for this internship is much better than most companies I have every encountered. My team welcomed me with open arms and gave me projects that will impact the company after my internship is over, not just busy work. They treat you like are real employee, not just an intern.

What I wish was different

It would have been nice for the internship to be in office, but I am glad that I did not have to relocate to work.

Advice

It is a competitive internship pool, but take that risk even if you're hesitant. If you land the position, you definitely earned it! Remote working may not be for everyone, but it has a lot of benefits.

Marketing Analyst Intern

May - August 2021 • Atlanta, GA

What I liked

I had a great experience with Comcast. The best part about the company is by far the people. Everyone is so willing to assist you in whatever you want to learn and they are more than happy to sit down with interns for a coffee chat about what they do. I got great experience in analytics and worked in Excel and SQL to sharpen my skills. My team and manager were both very helpful with learning new skills.

What I wish was different

Advice

Know that it's okay to ask for help! Internships are all about learning new things and gaining new experiences. Interns are absolutely not expected to know everything, so know that it is okay to ask questions.

data stewardship intern

June - August 2019 • Philadelphia, PA

What I liked

I liked that I was able to network with people throughout the company in my department and other departments and was also able to network with other interns through activities.

What I wish was different

I wish I had spent more time learning other things related to my major and given more tasks related to my major.

Advice

I would say don’t be afraid to set up a 15 coffee meeting with someone in a different field/department/career path that you’re interning for. Take the summer to figure out what you like and don’t like through other people’s experiences.

Community Events & Marketing

June - August 2018 • Livermore, CA

What I liked

I really enjoyed how much they invested in the interns. We participated in many leadership activities that promoted how we work with others, what our strengths are in a work environment and how we played a role in the company. The culture at Comcast was inclusive, collaborative and encouraged immense growth within myself. The people I worked with were always willing to help me learn.

What I wish was different

I wish I would've lived closer to the office! Living in the Bay Area for the first time I was not used to the commute it took to get anywhere.

Advice

Prepare to not have a normal 9 to 5 job. My position often required me to work on Saturdays and occasionally evenings. If you're flexile with your schedule it will help you be more successful.

Brand Partnership Marketing Intern

June - August 2017 • Philadelphia, PA

What I liked

I worked with an incredible team of people. The partnerships are able to leverage all aspects of marketing, so I was exposed to digital marketing, TV creative, research measurements, experiential marketing, internal communications, and more.

What I wish was different

I wish that Comcast had a streamlined method for transitioning interns into full-time positions rather than ad-hoc hiring conditional on openings. They don't offer return offers unless you're in the Finance Rotational Program.

Advice

Don't want until the end to reach out to people for networking and step up to do meaningful work.
