Law Assistant Intern

January - April 2024 • Bayonne, NJ

What I liked

Working with Cooltured was one of the best experiences I've had in an internship. The company's culture and environment were incredibly welcoming and my supervisors were always very supportive, kind, and easy to talk to. What I especially like about Cooltured is how much they value their interns and foster a positive relationship with them. The internship was flexible and they allowed interns to monitor their own schedule. This allowed me to focus on school-related matters while working on the internship. My supervisor, Ms. Chole, would also take the time to review my work with me and suggest where I needed room for improvement or what I did well. At Cooltured, I really felt my work was appreciated and that I made a worthwhile contribution to the site, as well as feeling that I made a great connection with my supervisors, which is something that I don't often find with a lot of student internships. The online resources they give to work with are very accessible and easy to use, and the tasks provided are tailored to an intern's educational pursuits. Throughout the internship, I learn new terminology and current law necessary to my higher educational goals. Overall, I am incredibly grateful that I had a chance to work with Cooltured. I hope they continue to expand and improve upon their internship program and I look forward to seeing how the company grows and innovates in the future.

Advice

Communication is key! If you are unsure or confused about your assignment, let your supervisor know right away. They are very understanding and more than willing to help you out. Additionally, Cooltured is not like other internships where they provide a set schedule to work with. Interns are responsible for making up their schedule and acculmating and accounting for their necessary hour requirements. In other words, use your time wisely!

What I liked

The cooledtured team was one click if I had any questions or if I needed any help. The team meetings always provided me with great feedback and I felt that they genuinely wanted to see me grow.

What I wish was different

I wish the beginning of the internship was structured a bit better as it got confusing at times what our assignments were. That being said, everyone on the team was there for any questions and would respond in a timely matter and overall it was a great experience.

Digital Content Creator Intern

August - November 2024 • Bensenville, IL

What I liked

Easy to understand system for deadlines, deliverables, meetings, and content requirements. It was all very consistent throughout the program. A kind, collaborative team of diverse personalities, with a helpful lead and manager.

What I wish was different

More freedom to choose an editing software you prefer.

Advice

Take the internship seriously. You have to produce good videos on a weekly basis, and take feedback well. It's busy, and moves fast, but I gained a lot of professional experience that I was looking for!

Legal Assistant Intern

November 2024 - February 2025 • Bensenville, IL

What I liked

I deeply appreciated the level of responsibility and independence instilled by the internship. You were assigned a project and were expected to work within your own schedule to complete your work in a timely manner. Furthermore, aside from the benefit of being able to work at your own pace, it was extremely helpful to have weekly check-ins with Chloe as they allowed for an examination of the research done for the week as well as an opportunity to gauge what else should be done for future research. I was grateful for the structure and organization of this internship, especially the timely communication of the supervisors.

What I wish was different

Overall, I had a great experience with Cooledtured. However, I do wish there had been more opportunities for interns from different projects to get to know each other a bit more. I realize in a remote setting this can be a bit difficult to achieve, but I feel that more "team-bonding" type events would be fun to have.

Advice

Regarding this experience, the best thing to remember is that communication is key. It's so important to reach out when you need clarification or support on something. The supervisors are extremely helpful and understanding. If you are able to be open and honest early on, it will be easier to navigate situations where you may need to request off or extend the timeline of your work due to other commitments.

Project Coordinator Internship

March - May 2024 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I am grateful for the support I received during my time here. The flexible work hours allowed me to effectively manage the social media team, where I gained invaluable experience. This experience deepened my understanding of management and highlighted the significance of cultivating strong relationships and fostering a positive team environment. Cooledtured provided an excellent platform for professional growth through their internship programs, always ready to offer assistance and guidance.

What I wish was different

I believe open communication channels are essential, especially during intern on-boarding, where detailed information about their tasks would have been beneficial. But everything else, besides this, was spot-on, and I would not change a thing about it.

Advice

As an intern, we often create barriers for ourselves, including self-imposed fears. My advice to anyone joining as a project coordinator intern is to prioritize open communication channels. Don't hesitate to take the initiative and reach out first if needed. Remember, people notice and appreciate small gestures. It is important to make connections with your team from the beginning to make sure that they know you and you know them. Establishing these connections is a way to build your team and subsequently to lead them.

Data Analyst Intern

May - August 2024 • Pleasanton, CA

What I liked

Cooledtured provided numerous datasets and encouraged us to choose our own projects, helping me discover the work I enjoy most. I appreciated the community of data interns Cooledtured brought together. Since some of us were new to data analysis, it was beneficial to learn and solve problems collaboratively rather than working alone. During the internship, I completed three different data-related projects, giving me a clearer idea of my future career path. If anyone is new and interested in Data Analysis, this would be a great place to dip your toes in.

What I wish was different

Advice

I have a background in coding, which made analyzing data in Python straightforward for me. Mentorship on coding isn't provided, so be prepared to watch tutorials and learn independently.

Web Developer Intern

September - December 2024 • Bensenville, IL

What I liked

Cooledtured offers a welcoming environment to contribute to a variey of programming assignments that will go live on their website. They give the interns a lot of freedom to design and implement the changes the way that they want.

What I wish was different

Cooledtured is flexible with how you put in your weekly 15 hours of work, but I thought that the meetings which occured twice a week started too late and went on for too long.

Advice

I would advise incoming interns not to be afraid to share their ideas for the website. The internship is very collaborative, and being responsible for an innovative change is a great way to leave your mark.

Project Coordinator

July - December 2024 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I love that this was my first experience out of college, to be able to work in an industry that makes me happy was truly a dream come true! As an anime and collectible fan I loved the cooledtured environment, although the position was remote you could feel the passion and excitement the team shares for the anime culture. Everyone I worked with was so friendly and hardworking and I loved learning and being able to apply what I learned in school here in this position.

What I wish was different

Advice

Enjoy it! It was so much fun to not only grow professionally but to also have such fun experiences while working! It was so great to see the content creators grow in their skills and I always enjoyed our meetings!

Data Research Analyst Intern

July - October 2024 • Bensenville, IL

What I liked

The data analyst team was relatively unstructured, so I had the opportunity to choose areas that I was interested in pursuing. I was interested in gathering community data regarding trending shows and games, so I decided to create tools in that area. Other interns analyzed data about topics they were passionate about, such as trading card games, figurines, etc. I enjoyed this freedom to explore different fields, as well as the opportunities to collaborate with other like-minded interns.

What I wish was different

I wish that there had been more structure and guidance, especially towards the beginning of the internship experience. Getting started was somewhat difficult as instructions were not always clear. Although there are some beginner projects to work on, starting out is pretty unstructured. Furthermore, communicating and collaborating with other interns is difficult due to the position being remote. This seemed to improve towards the end of my internship experience.

Advice

I would advise others to choose projects that they are truly interested in. The experience can be quite rewarding especially if you are dealing with data that you understand or can relate to. Overall, with this internship, you get what you put into it. It is a good opportunity to develop your skills, however you have to personally put in the work and research topics for yourself.
