Edward Jones Investments

On-Call Branch Office Administrator

June 2021 • Westerville, OH

What I liked

Paid training, very helpful and responsive Home Office, and small offices that allow for close connections and expansion of network and job opportunities.

What I wish was different

An updated computer system that was more user-friendly and intuitive; tasks are often difficult to get the hang of when using the “green screen,” but the home office is definitely very helpful for beginners.

Advice

Do not be afraid to reach out to other branches and familiarize yourself with other work methods that my differ from your training branch.

Software Engineering Intern

May - August 2019 • St. Louis, MO

What I liked

Everyone was always nice and very willing to help with any issues you had. Furthermore, I had a great intern mentor who I talked to and checked in with every week, to make sure that everything was going smoothly, that I was being fulfilled in what I wanted out of the internship and more.

What I wish was different

Newer technology and practices. Being a financial institution that has been around for a very large time, in addition to being held to regulations by the government makes the progress of tech here slow. Getting interns to work on the newer tech and development would probably be best.

Advice

Don't be afraid to reach out to others for help, or to build connections with them. If there are any problems you run into, then be sure to voice them! Support can always be found.

Finance Intern

May - August 2019 • St. Louis, MO

What I liked

The intern program and continued learning along with the culture of the firm made for a great summer learning experience!

What I wish was different

I wish I would have asked for a raise to make the pay competitive with other interns, because I had already been with the firm for 8months by the time I started my internship!

Advice

Apply early and immerse yourself in the culture to ensure you get the most out of your opportunity!

What I liked

I liked that the job was very hands on and they were trusting me to preform well. I enjoyed the aspect of networking with mentors and leaders in the firm as well as learning a lot about my department.

What I wish was different

I wish the hours would be lighter on a full time student. I have had a difficult time juggling school, work and other activities.
