I loved the open environment, it made me feel like I could ask questions at any time. The staff was very kind to us and treated us as young professionals rather than students.
What I wish was different
Some weeks there wasn't as much work around the office depending on what service line you were working at. With that being said there was quite a few times I found myself lookin for work to do and making it known that I was available.
Advice
Absolutely try to engage yourself with the people you're surrounded by. It is a great way to expand you network especially if you're interning at the company you see yourself with after graduation!

Tax Intern
July - August 2020 • Los Angeles, CA
What I liked
Although my internship was entirely virtual due to COVID, I learned way more than I imagined I would. There were webinars every other day that gave more insight into the different career paths and areas within EY. Interns were given the opportunity to earn badges in areas such as Blockchain and Data Analytics with a variety of learning resources. My team was very welcoming and helpful. They gave me enough freedom and guidance for me to accomplish tasks on my own without feeling like a burden or clueless. There were also multiple social events for interns to get to know one another and professionals.
What I wish was different
I wish I was able to interact more with different teams as opposed to only hearing about them. During my internship, I mainly worked with one team.
Advice
Be a sponge and take up as much knowledge as you can but don't burn yourself out. This is the time where people expect you to know nothing. Ask as many questions as you want.

Business Consulting Intern
July - August 2020 • Chicago, IL
What I liked
Despite the internship being virtual, EY's recruiting team worked hard to ensure that the interns had a meaningful experience in which we were able to learn about the firm and the work we would be doing full time. We also had so many opportunities to network virtually and meet other interns. The final capstone was a great experience in which we worked with interns from all over the country.
What I wish was different
I wish we had been able to complete the internship in person as planned, but some things are out of our control!
Advice
Be willing to learn and help your team as much as you can! Branch out and network with other interns and professionals every chance you get.

July - August 2020 • San Jose, CA
What I liked
The experience itself was better than I expected, because I didn’t know exactly what to expect
What I wish was different
Fewer emails with everything we need, there were too many emails and some that we had to keep referring to. This was the first virtual internship so it had some inconveniences, but it still went very well
Advice
Always ask for help when you’re unsure!

Business Consultant
July - August 2020 • Tysons, VA
What I liked
Despite being virtual, EY hosted many intern events for both educational purposes and community building. My manager and team were fantastic, and really brought me into their project for the short 3 weeks I was there.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been longer than 5 weeks to have more client time, but due to Covid-19 this was difficult to facilitate.
Advice
EY wants people who are passionate and friendly! If you are an intern there, don't worry about what you don't know (they really focus on your development throughout), but focus on building relationships and doing the best possible job you can.

What I liked
I loved working for EY! It's the ideal mesh between a big company and a small community. Your office feels like your home, but then you have this globally connected network of resources.
What I wish was different
I wish it would've been a bit longer! But as it was a busy season internship, I understand the short timeframe.
Advice
If you're an accounting major, starting Big 4 is ideal. The resources and opportunities available to you are incomparable.

Structured Finance Analyst
June - August 2019 • New York City, NY
What I liked
I really enjoyed how friendly everyone was and how comfortable they made all the interns. Pretty much everyone accepts their return offer, which just goes to show how amazing the work environment was. I also was doing the same work a new hire would be doing, so it was a taste of what the job would actually be like rather than silly intern projects.
What I wish was different
Advice
Ask questions and get coffee with everyone! You're never going to be in a position where it's as okay as it is now to ask "dumb" questions or ask manager/executive directors about their jobs. It's like a free pass, and you should definitely take full advantage!

Assurance Intern
January - March 2020 • Tampa, FL
What I liked
I consider my time as an intern as a wonderful learning experience. I had the opportunity to work in four different teams and industries that were different from one another. I liked everything about the firm, but what I think was more important to me is that in every team that I was on the professionals were always willing to help me and provide guidance, despite being extremely busy with their own work. Working as a team and lifting one another is a fundamental part of the firm’s culture.
What I wish was different
Advice
One piece of advice that I would share with future interns is to take advantage of the opportunity to learn from the great people that work for the firm. If you do not understand something there is always someone else who is willing to help you. Being a team player is extremely important and valued!

Accounting Intern
June - August 2019 • Toledo, OH
What I liked
During my Launch Internship with EY I had the opportunity to work with many different service lines to see which one I preferred. Throughout the internship I spent time with the Risk Advisory, Audit and Tax teams. My time with the company was amazing, everyone was welcoming and helpful and this experience has confirmed my interest in Audit. I even still met with some of the employees on Thursday nights for beach volleyball.
What I wish was different
Nothing, it was an astonishing experience.

Accounting Intern
June - August 2019 • Boston, MA
What I liked
I like the networking and the experience. The people were so willing to teach and alleviated the feeling of not knowing what to do. They explained everything one by one and helped make my experience at the internship very memorable.
What I wish was different
I wish I knew about this sooner so that I would've applied sooner rather than later.
Advice
My advice is that you should apply to the internships. Even if they feel out of reach because you never know what opportunities you could receive. I applied on a whim, not expecting a reply. It really changed my summer and gave me a strong reference for my resume.

Transfer Pricing Intern
June - August 2019 • Detroit, MI
What I liked
The culture was great. We had resources we could pull from from different parts of the country, as well as overseas. My team really cared about its people. Hours for Transfer Pricing do vary by week, I never worked long hours.
What I wish was different
I wish the internship was longer. It lasted 8 weeks, one of which was training, another 3 days was the intern conference, and one week of vacation because of 4th of July. I didn't want to leave by the end of it!
Advice
Try to be as polished as possible. Put your best foot forward, while also being yourself. Network as much as possible. Volunteer to speak in intern presents, I wish I had!
