Supply Chain Summer Intern - Bloomfield, CT

The Otis Service Center in Bloomfield, CT is looking for a highly motivated student to join our team as a Supply Chain Intern. We are looking for an organized self-starter with supply chain, business, or technical backgrounds; and/or, aptitudes who is interested in a career in the elevator industry. Our intern position will assist the Supply Chain department in activities associated with the purchasing of material for our service/modernization/ commercial organizations as well as materials for outsourcing projects.

The Intern will receive beneficial and meaningful projects as well as direct involvement in processes for Otis Elevator. Throughout your internship/co-op, we provide continuous training and performance feedback to ensure you build the necessary skills to succeed. 

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will develop an understanding of Supply Management support activities and the application of data as a tool to gain efficiency. Our intern position will assist the Supply Chain department with numerous daily activities related to Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Operations, which will provide the intern with hands-on experience of the Buyer role.

Key Activities:

  • Purchase Order issuance and confirmations
  • Work with suppliers to resolve issues: On-time delivery (OTD), discrepancies/ material rejections, invoice errors
  • Analyze direct ship data and identify efficiency opportunities
  • Assist in the execution of price and lead time requests and other sourcing projects

Education
Candidate must be enrolled in school, working towards the completion of a bachelor’s degree in Operations/Supply Chain Management or related fields such as Business Administration, Engineering, or Logistics.
