Healthcare Coordinator/Director of First Aid

Length of Position: Summer, residential position for 7 weeks

Description: Teach, Mentor, Commit, Play, Collaborate that's a summer at Emagination and one you don't want to miss! Healthcare Coordinators ensure the safety of campers and staff and work with the staff team to ensure the delivery of a camp program that balances technology learning with opportunities for recreation, personal growth and social development.

Healthcare Coordinator Responsibilities:

Day to day implementation of Emagination Tech Camps Health Care Plan. This includes providing First Aid, individual health care, maintaining health records, management, administration and tracking of medications, collaborating with external health care providers, corporate team members and parents/guardians.

During emergencies or crises, lead and coordinate the camp's response from a healthcare perspective in order to provide for the health and safety of campers and staff.

Use CampDoc.com to manage health care at camp including health history form updates, medications, treatment records and communications.

Set up and maintain the nurse's station and infirmary room.

Attend staff training week, complete online pre-camp training and provide appropriate training to team members.

Live on campus with our campers and be responsible for their well-being during the day, evening and on the weekend

Additional responsibilities assigned as required

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years work experience in a summer camp or other environment working with children

Experience distributing and tracking medications

Experience communicating sensitive information related to health and medical to patients and their parents

Mental Health First Aid

If unlicensed, trained or willingness to obtain documented training in medication administration by a pharmacist, physician, physician assistant, advanced practice registered nurse or registered nurse

Shall satisfy the requirements of A and B below:


A. Age 21 or older and hold current first aid certification ("first aider") from one of the following:

American Red Cross

American Heart Association

National Safety Council

American Safety and Health Institute

Medic First Aid International, Inc.

National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Wilderness Medicine Institute-Wilderness First Aid, Advanced First Aid or First Responder

Stonehearth Opening Learning Opportunities, Inc. (SOLO) Wilderness First Aid

First Aid Course approved for child care by OEC prior to January 6, 2016 (contact OEC for more information)


OR one of the following:

Physician with a current CT license (or physicians who are licensed in another state, whose standards are equivalent to or greater than those required in this state)

Physician Assistant with a current CT license "PA"

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a current CT license "APRN"

Registered Nurse with a current CT license "RN"

Licensed Practical Nurse with a current CT license "LPN"

Emergency Medical Services Instructor with a current CT certification "EMS-I"

Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic with a current CT paramedic certification "EMT-P"

Emergency Medical Technician "EMT" with a current CT certification

Emergency Medical Responder "EMR" with a current CT certification

Advanced Emergency Medical Technician "AEMT" with a current CT certification




B. Current CPR certification appropriate to the ages served by the camp from one of the following:

American Red Cross

American Heart Association

National Safety Council

American Safety and Health Institute

Medic First Aid International, Inc.
