Operations Engineering Intern (IIOT) Summer 2022

This internship will provide you with hands on experience, which will offer you exposure to cutting-edge equipment and processes for steel fabrication, industrial woodworking and assembly operations. You will utilize your Engineering coursework to help develop custom data acquisition and visualization applications while using the latest controls and smart sensor technologies. You will work with and support our Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) activities to help capture, store, organize and prepare data to help people and machine optimize shop-floor performance. 
 

We believe you’ll love working in this fast-paced environment collaborating with highly motivated and skilled engineers. 

What you will be doing: 

  • Working side by side with our senior engineers to help design, program, test and debug industrial automation applications. 
  • Advancing your skill set by Learning and growing with regular feedback 
  • Spending some of your time in our LEED certified clean plants. This is not a typical factory. 
  • Working on initiatives to reduce cost of products and / or processes

  • Are you eager to build hardware and software solutions that support factory automation?

Qualifications: 


  • Preferred graduation dates: Dec 2021 and May 2023  
  • Authorized to work in the US without future need of sponsorship  
  • GPA of 2.8 or better  
  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • You must have a valid U.S. driver's license and daily access to a vehicle as work locations in Grand Rapids may vary
