Northeast Seniors for Better Living VISTA
Join us at the City of Saint Paul AmeriCorps VISTA cohort and help seniors stay in their homes as long as possible by building capacity at NE Seniors for Better Living!
North East Seniors for Better Living is a block nurse program serving St. Paul’s Greater East Side, North St. Paul, and Maplewood. We are dedicated to helping seniors living in their own homes continue to lead happy, healthy, and independent lives. The goal of this VISTA project is to recruit new volunteers to better serve our existing participants, help engage new participants, and strengthen and expand our community partnerships.
Member Duties:
This VISTA will be reaching out to high schools, churches, community groups, other non-profits, as well as public events to inform and recruit potential volunteers for our volunteer programs. This will require speaking to administrators and community representatives to solicit and secure events to share information and recruit volunteers. In a similar vein, this VISTA will also engage with potential participants to inform them what our organization offers in similar settings. Lastly, this VISTA will help reach out to potential community partners to share and solicit information. To a lesser degree, this VISTA will also help identify and assist in expanding revenue streams such as fundraising and grant writing.
