Corporate Strategy Intern, Summer 2022

POSITION PURPOSE: 
The purpose of this job is to assist with internal consulting to any functional area looking to expand and/or improve its operations. This position is also responsible for: assisting in the development of ideas for and conducting analysis on new market opportunities that REG could benefit from, supporting the creation of business plans to support new opportunities, assisting with 3rd party consultants, and conducting analysis on competitors/ industries to develop strategic initiatives that increase market share, improve risk management, and support long term growth.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  
Strategic Planning
  • Assist in development of business plans and strategy communication materials for presentations targeting various stakeholder groups
  • Participate in formulation of corporate and business unit strategy, including commercial strategy, product strategy, technology strategy, and competitive analysis
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Business Development and Corporate Finance and Investment Banking groups, along with relevant leaders to assess the strategic fit of external commercial and technology opportunities
  • Track strategy implementation within business units and functions
  • Responsible for completing work streams within designated projects
Analysis
  • Collaborate with counterparts in the renewables, agricultural, chemicals and energy sectors and business units to ensure strategic alignment
  • Perform complex analysis and provide recommendations on existing strategy and performance of the business units 
  • Analyze strategic opportunities and challenges for the corporation and business units 
  • Provide analysis on strategic alliances, potential M&A deals and integration
  • Monitor, analyze and assess competitive marketplace changes and movements
Other frequent duties:
  • Cultivate a collaborative, creative, results-oriented work environment across departments
  • Communicate effectively with others throughout this process to ensure alignment with company objectives and the availability of required resources

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: Pursuing bachelor’s degree –Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Marketing or related degree
Experience Required: Financial analysis and analytical business experience preferred
**Business environment experience, relevant courses, club participation and internship preferred
