DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Produced and broadcast by GBH, High School Quiz Show® is an award-winning single-elimination academic team competition for high school students in Massachusetts, hosted by Billy Costa. The series is typically studio-based however this year’s production will be a hybrid model with the production staff in the studio and the teams in remote locations. High School Quiz Show content is featured as a GBH broadcast as well as on YouTube and a range of social media platforms. The series is entering its 13th Season.
JOB OVERVIEW
High School Quiz Show interns assist the production staff during all stages of production across multiple media platforms and support other GBH youth productions as needed. Fully virtual candidates are encouraged to apply. The ability to provide in-person support during the tapings is a plus, but is not a requirement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review deliverables (e.g., scripts, designs, rough cuts, etc.)
- Conduct research
- Provide administrative support
- Produce social media content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tik Tok
- Support crew and staff as needed during episode rehearsals and tapings
SKILL SET
- Must be proactive, professional, and able to multitask
- Strong communication skills required
- Studio production experience is desirable
- Experience with writing, television/video production, and/or working with youth and young adults preferred
- Design/video/photo editing
- Experience with design programs like Canva, Photoshop, Premiere, and video editing skills a plus
- Comfortable working independently, as well as with a team.
- Active and adept on a range of popular social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail are essential
- Must be proficient with Macs

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
GBH internships provide students with valuable work experience and real-world knowledge across many different fields of study, from TV and radio production to web design, accounting, law, and other administrative areas.
SPRING 2021 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
- Spring 2021 Virtual Internship dates: January 25th - May 7th
- You must provide separate cover letters for each internship that you are applying to
- Candidates must have their own computer and access to Wi-Fi
- Candidates must currently be enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate program and have work authorization for the United States.
