Administration and External Affairs Paraprofessional Intern

JOB SUMMARY

The intern will assist with various projects throughout the assignment, including, but not limited to:

Project Title: Media Relations

- Create educational and engaging content for social media channels and distribution to Member Communities
- Assist with creation and distribution of press releases; build and update media lists and databases
- Assist with the development of content for Clean Water Works – a public access television program produced by the City of Cleveland – and participate in related media interviews as needed
- Assist with media interview preparation and media training as needed
- Monitor and “clip” articles related to the Sewer District
- Assist with coordination of media buys, ensuring all media (print, online, television, radio, and outdoor) creatives are added to the production schedule and submitted to media on schedule

Project Title: Public Outreach and Education

-Assist with the coordination of various outreach activities, including volunteer recruitment and preparation of the materials
-Represent the Sewer District at various outreach events and public meetings, which include some evenings and weekends
-Assist with the creation of unique scholastic outreach educational materials and programming
NOTE: Due to COVID-19 and ever-evolving guidance concerning public-facing events, Public Outreach and Education efforts, including Clean Water Fest, are uncertain at this time.

Project Title: Administrative

-Assist with procurement of materials and tracking products as they are received
-Assist with filing and other administrative duties as assigned
-Edit letters and related correspondence from Engineering & Construction, contractors, and subcontractors to residents; may coordinate letter distribution with Good Neighbor Ambassadors
Other duties as required

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Candidate must be able to work 40 hours per week. Working hours are Monday – Friday during normal business hours but will require some weeknight and weekend hours. Work hours will be adjusted as appropriate for interns who are enrolled in school.
- Candidate must be able to commit to up to a minimum of 6 months for the assignment with an option to extend the assignment at NEORSD’s discretion and funding ability. This internship program provides a time-limited role at NEORSD with no express or implied guarantee of future employment beyond the assignment period. This position is governed by all applicable NEORSD administrative policies, practices, and procedures related to temporary employees

EDUCATION 

- Candidate must be enrolled in a bachelor degree program or better with a declared major of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations Education or a related field or must have graduated within 24 months from the date of application

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION
- Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving record in accordance with the District’s acceptable guidelines.
