Culinary Internship

Incredible Opportunity for a Dynamic Student!!! Work at one of the top tourist destination in Utah with our award winning Culinary team. We are located at the historic Joseph Smith Memorial Building on world-renown Temple Square in Downtown Salt Lake City. This position will receive a hands-on experience learning from the multiple culinary areas and gain industry insight to various aspects of operations in the restaurant, catering and event industry. Under the direction of the Executive Chef and working with the Culinary team, the Culinary Intern will be trained in practical work experience by performing support tasks while working in a fast-paced environment.

Areas of training include:

-Executing operational standards

-Food Prep and station set up

-Event Catering

-Purchasing, production and execution of menu items

-Safety and proper operation of equipment

-Proper sanitation protocols

-Working alongside sous chef and head chef

-Upholding the highest standards of safety and sanitation.

The learning objectives for this internship are:

1- Demonstrate understanding and skills necessary to work in a diverse culinary environment

2- Experience opportunities to learn, observe, and practice a variety of experiences in the world of hospitality and culinary arts.

-Currently enrolled in a Culinary Arts program or related Food Services Management program

-Demonstrated knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation and the principles of safe food handling.

-Effective communication skills

-Interest in the hospitality and service industry, and in Culinary Arts

-Highly effective teamwork skills, time management, multi-tasking and ability to prioritize tasks.

-Punctuality, Attentiveness and Cleanliness

-Must have current Food Handlers Permit
