Human Resources Intern

: A 10-week internship program supporting the Human Resources team responsible for tactical and multi- dimensional aspects of the employee experience. Special projects and experiential work in the areas of benefits administration, compliance & reporting, HRIS, policy and procedure, training, and development.
 
CHARACTERISTICS:  Possesses a working knowledge of HR functions that incorporate an attitude of continuous learning, the application of best practices, and the delivery of customized HR solutions. An articulate individual who can relate to people and exhibit strong communication skills. A person who is well-organized, self-directed, curious, and collaborative.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
·      Research best practices, guidelines, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement in the company and human resource operations.
·      Facilitate the maintenance of employee related records, HRIS systems and human capital data.
·      Exposure to benefits, EEOC, immigration, compliance, and daily on-demand HR requests.
·      Research aspects of training delivery methods: best practices, vendors, and sustainability.
·      Special Projects as needed.
  
QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, ability for learning additional software.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, attention to detail, proven problem-solving skills.
  • Ethical conduct, personal effectiveness/credibility, judgment, and ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Self-starter, well-organized, multi-tasker, and who can proactively deliver.
 
 
 
Education:      Currently enrolled in a four-year college or university in a Bachelor or Master’s program with a preferred course of study in Human Resources Management.

Experience:       Advanced computer abilities (proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and Windows). Strong strategic and process-oriented skills. Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the fundamental aspects of Human Resources. Experience in HRIS systems a plus.

Skills/Abilities:
•            General Business, Human Resources, Marketing. 
•            Proficiency is required in a variety of computer applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
•            Experience with people management software is beneficial, but not required.
•            Proven research, organizational and interpersonal skills.
•            Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•            Energetic, driven, and action-oriented professional with a high attention to detail.
•            Steadfast at keeping confidential information confidential.
•            Exhibits a high level of personal responsibility.
