Modeling, Analytics, & Simulation Sciences (MASS) Engineer Intern

The successful candidate will support the Department of Defense in the development of analysis and training models and tools. Typical projects involve building and integrating physics-based models into simulation frameworks, such as AFSIM or ITASE. We also assist in developing scenarios to test new concepts in these simulation environments.
 
The Modeling, Analytics, and Simulation Sciences Operation is heavily focused on support to the Intelligence Community and DoD through specialized software development and M&S tools and infrastructure. We have a unique blend of analysis and modeling capabilities with an understanding of S&TI missions which enables us to provide the Government with innovative solutions to complex software requirements. We are industry leaders in the Air Force Research Lab’s AFSIM modeling and simulation environment and are heavily involved in the Intelligence Community’s TMAP and ITASE MS&A efforts. This opportunity will give the candidate exposure to a wide array of new technologies to include the latest in modeling & simulation, graphic databases, and user interface design. Our dynamic software development teams work collaboratively to develop models of vehicles, sensors, and complex interactions. We utilize analytical tools to aid in understanding test results and solutions and creating graphical representations to relate findings to decision makers.

Required Skills

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant technical degree
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Experience with programming languages such as C++ and Python
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools

  • Self-motivated and able to work well within a team
  • Experience developing physics-based and logical models
  • Experience with analytical tools such as JMP and R
