Human Resources Intern (Fall/Winter)

The Human Resources Intern is responsible for various professional as well as administrative tasks within the Human Resources team. The HR Intern may assist in a variety of areas and functions including: training and development, safety, talent acquisition, benefits administration, and employee relations activities. This intern will also assist with other human resources administrative tasks.
 
The position will report directly to the HR Manager.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Assist HR Team with completion of daily activities in recruiting and employee engagement
  • Support HR initiatives and projects
  • Assist with the maintenance of job descriptions
  • Provide learning & development presentation support as needed
  • Partner with team to manage the employee on-boarding and off-boarding processes
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department
 
The position should expect to work approximately 20-30 hours a week during the fall/winter term; Flexible hours can be scheduled around current class schedule and/or other responsibilities.
 
Education and experience:

  • Currently entering your Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year and seeking a bachelor’s degree
  • Previous experience in Human Resources or Business preferred, but not required
 
Skills and abilities:

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel
  • Effective, professional communication written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Discretion to handle confidential, sensitive employee information
