Per Diem Respiratory Therapist

What You Will Do:

Respiratory Therapists are expected to have a fundamental, working knowledge of anatomy and physiology, disease processes, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic modalities. This includes, but is obviously not limited to: Arterial Blood Gas (ABG), EKG, oximetry, capnography, and chest x-ray analysis and interpretation and their relevance to the patient’s care. Medical gas cylinders and regulators. Oxygen delivery devices. Mechanical ventilators (relative to all age groups of patients) Therapeutic pulmonary modalities Pulmonary Diagnostics ? While performing job functions related to respiratory medication administration, personnel may access medication storage areas.

What You Will Bring:

Education
Certificate Accredited Respiratory Care Program
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program


Certification & Licensures
Respiratory Care Practitioner License in West Virginia within 45 days of hire
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved
Credentialed by NBRC as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
Actively pursuing Registry if Registry eligible required * * New hires, that are Registry Eligible must be Registered within three years of hire. **New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications
Certified and competent to perform all prescribed duties as outlined in the Job Description to patients ages infant to adult. Must maintain Annual Respiratory Services Competency testing scores in accordance with department standards. Primary work assignment will be Acute Care.
