Human Resources Intern - Summer 2023

What to expect:
Our Human Resources Internship Program provides the opportunity for you to make an impact on the company by working on critical business needs and hands-on projects while also being able to grow yourself professionally through challenging assignments, personal coaching, and networking opportunities with other interns and leaders cross-functionally.

Our 12-week summer internship allows you to take a deep dive into what it is like to be a true HR professional at a passionate, challenging, and innovative company. Our HR internship is project-based so you will experience both larger ongoing projects as well as shorter-scale projects throughout the summer that align with our business objectives.

Interns are placed into one specific team based on interest and business need. These teams could include, but are not limited to: Generalist, Client Group Business Partners, Centers of Excellence including Compensation/Benefits, Organizational Development, or Talent Acquisition.

Whether you get the chance to work closely with the employees that make our fun, high-quality products in a plant environment or support one of our many Business Units and/or Functional areas, you will gain HR specific skills & knowledge, the opportunity to build your professional network, gain exposure to how Polaris operates and increase your business acumen. Some of the projects you might have exposure to include HR analytics, orientation and onboarding, talent pipelining, succession planning, and generalist responsibilities. Interns who demonstrate exceptional performance and a passion to learn may be offered an additional internship or a full-time position, depending on graduation date eligibility.

Interns are typically placed in any of the following locations: Plymouth, MN; Medina, MN; Spirit Lake, IA; Osceola, WI; Roseau, MN; Wyoming, MN; and Huntsville, AL. Polaris offers relocation reimbursement to interns who qualify.

Intern responsibilities include:
  • Transportation to/from office
  • Securing housing for the duration of the internship
  • Attending a 2-3 day summit event in Minnesota: an opportunity to learn from executives, network with other interns, and participate in professional development.

Required Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business with an emphasis in Human Resources or other related degree
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0, preferred
  • Able to complete full 12-week internship working 40 hours per week (May/June-August 2023)
  • Geographic flexibility
  • Proven strength in the following: analysis and creative problem solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership
  • The drive to actively contribute to both personal and company-wide goals through creative and innovative thinking

  • Previous leadership experience in work, organizations, or classroom
