Surgical Technologist 1 Mount Vernon OR
The Inova Mount Vernon Hospital Operating Room is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist 1 for our Operating Room Unit who wants to work in an environment which fosters world-class healthcare every time, every touch while providing positive patient outcomes through a collaborative practice model and evidence-based nursing practice. The position is full-time dayshift.
Description of Services/Department:
The Inova Mount Vernon Operating Room consists of 8 ORs that serves the communities of Orthopedics- Total Joints, Ankles and Shoulders, Sports Medicine; Podiatry; General- Laparoscopic and Open; Urology; Plastics and ENT. Case volumes average 20 cases per day. The OR functions 24/7 with the support of call teams on off-shifts and holidays. It is a fast-paced environment that focuses on strong teamwork and patient safety.
As an Inova Surgical Technologist you will:
- Provide individual, patient-centered approach to patients with a wide range of diagnoses.
- Ensure safe and sterile field by monitoring the overall environment of the OR.
- Collaborate care with multi-disciplinary teams to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others.
- Maintain strong and open communication skills.
- Serve as a resource preceptor and mentor.

Requirements:
- Education and Licensure: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of accredited Surgical Technologist program. CST certification via NBSTSA required.
- BLS certification by AHA
- Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills

Desired:
- Orthopedics- totals and sports, urology, gynecology, general, ENT, plastics and Davinci Xi robotics strongly desired
