GIS/Asset Management Paraprofessional Internship

This 12-month internship will give you a variety of experience working with projects as it relates to the area of focus. During this internship, you will gain more experience with different software such as GIS, Nexgen, and more! Interested in or have experience in Asset Management & GIS?

Asset Management Support & Implementation
  • Assist with creating documentation of processes used by the Asset Management team
  • Assist with the Quick Response (QR) Code Implementation
  • Support Asset Management Training Efforts
  • Assist to develop dashboards for tracking maintenance costs and maintenance schedules

Geographic Information System (GIS) Collections & Plants Support
  • Assist with editing existing and creating new asset records (GIS Editing)
  • Assist with creating asset packets for GIS/Asset Management
  • Assist with field investigations of Collections & Plants GIS assets
  • Assist with maintaining existing ArcGIS Online (AGO) applications

System Integration General Support
  • Assist with creating documentation to support mobile strategy and training
  
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
-The candidate must be able to work 40 hours per week. Working hours are Monday- Friday during regular business hours. Work hours will be adjusted as appropriate for interns who are enrolled in school.
-The candidate must be able to commit to up to a 12-month assignment with an option to extend the assignment at NEORSD's discretion. This internship program provides for a time-limited role at NEORSD with no express or implied guarantee of future employment beyond the assignment period. This position is governed by all applicable NEORSD administrative policies, practices, and procedures related to temporary employees.

EDUCATION
-The candidate must be enrolled in school in an Associate degree program or higher. The candidate is still eligible if they have graduated within 24 months from the date of application with a declared major in GIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field of study.

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION
- Candidate must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record in accordance with the District's acceptable guidelines.
