Supply Chain Analyst Intern (2023 Summer Intern Program)

The Watts Internship Program is strategically designed to allow you the opportunity to utilize what you have learned in the classroom while gaining a true understanding of the business world by applying those key principles through hands-on experience. During the internship, students will gain exposure to and impact operations. What You’ll Do   
  
The Supply Chain Analyst Intern will assist our Inventory analysis and reporting KPI capabilities. The Supply Chain Analyst Intern is responsible for developing data analysis and reporting tools to support the Supply Chain planning team. This role is responsible for mining inventory and network-related data, monitoring and tracking results, providing analysis, and developing reports and charts to communicate results. 
You will have exposure to the following components during your internship:  
  • Production- Making and Packaging  
  • Physical Distribution/ Warehouse  
  • Quality  
  • Health, Safety, and Environment  
The internship will be approximately 13 weeks, and during your time with Watts, you will focus on the following:  
  • Inventory Tools Development – Assist in our inventory tools development project with fresh ideas to create reports that will help us identify and proactively solve inventory-related issues 
  • Data Analytics – Analyze inventory information in all our distribution centers as well as in transit inventory to identify optimization opportunities 
  • Network Optimization – Utilize network optimizations models to analyze and detect network optimization opportunities 
  • Process Improvement – Collaborate with distribution centers and other supply chain organizations to implement inventory optimization proposals 
 
Minimum Qualifications  
  • Current student (sophomore, junior or senior status) actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply chain, engineering, data science, or related field 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and do not require sponsorship now or in the future  
  • Superior analytical and quantitative skills; Technical proficiency required 
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills 
  • Strong technical acumen including MS Suite (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word) 
  • Strong time management skills 
  • Project management experience preferred

*Physical Requirements   
While performing the duties, the employee will be working in an office environment with exposure to the plant floor as well as the Engineering Test Facility. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects and other tools.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The Employee may be required to lift, push, and/or pull up to 20 pounds.
