2023 Summer Intern - Information Technology

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Are you ready to begin preparing for your future career in IT? Equitable is seeking stellar student leaders who are eager to participate in our IT/ Data Internship program. The experience you’ll gain will open up exceptional career opportunities and could lead to you landing your dream job at Equitable upon graduation.
The 10-week IT Summer Intern program provides an exciting and rewarding experience for college students interested in IT as a career. Our program provides training and practical experience on technology best practices and processes designed to start developing the Equitable technology leaders of the future.
The IT Summer Internship will provide the Intern with a general understanding of Information Technology and the various business areas we support. The IT Interns will be assigned to a technical functional area of IT including Programming, Systems Analysis, Data Analysis, End User Support, and Cybersecurity. Upon the successful completion of the internship, the IT Interns may be considered for a permanent position upon college graduation.
Intern Goals/Success Measures
  • Experience in building relationships with all levels of management
  • Ability to work with project teams and complete all assigned projects by deadline dates
  • Functional experience in assigned IT business areas
  • Demonstrated teamwork through collaboration on an executive presentation
Typical assignments will consist of:
  • Involvement and assistance with department-wide industry-leading-edge initiatives
  • Project support to ensure the completion of various company-wide projects
  • Interfacing with a diverse group of peers in a matrix organization
  • Supporting team members in completion of project tasks such as analyzing data models, software development, conducting unit testing, and implementing project deliverables
  • Time is allotted for training, networking and completion of CIO / SIO project presentation
Internship Dates: June 5, 2023 through August 11, 2023
 
 
 
 

Qualifications

 
 
  • Desired Majors: Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics or related area of study
  • Participation in extracurricular activities and leadership positions within school or community preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Interest or experience in any of the following areas would be a plus:
  • Agile Framework
  • Software Development Skills (Java, Python, C#, COBOL, etc.)
  • Automation Tools (RPA/Robotics, Python, UI Path, etc.)
  • Relational Database Experience (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, etc.)
  • Exposure to ERP Applications (SAP, Oracle Financials, PeopleSoft, etc.)
  • Data Analysis
  • End User Support
  • Cybersecurity
  • IT Audit
  • IT Vendor Management
