Development Intern (Summer 2023)

The candidate would be joining a team of developers and Cloud Solutions Engineers that lead & drive operations and site reliability aspects of a worldwide cloud platform. Specifically, they would partner with another intern and be a team together working at the direction of guidance of experienced development engineers. The candidate will be working on our flagship cloud-based systems management platform in a cloud agnostic environment (could be AWS, Azure, or GCP) to help enable Application Platform Monitoring. This would involve working our development teams to expose and collect the data and then to visualize inside tools like signalFX. Additionally, they will work with development to help implement health and liveness probes in the cloud application.

Basic Qualifications:
• Pursuing a degree in B.S./M.S in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering (with programming skills/experience) or Computer Science (with hardware skills/experience) or equivalent practical experience.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform
• Knowledge of commercial SaaS platforms or other hosted infrastructure at scale
• Familiar with designing, building, and improving automated deployment and operations tools and processes
• Familiar with Python, Java, C, Shell Scripting
• Familiar with Docker Containers and Kubernetes
• Familiar with Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation or similar infrastructure automation and modelling toolkits
• Familiar with troubleshooting and debugging steps
• Excellent communications skills - able to work with teams across cultures fostering trust and collaboration.
• Excellent English speaking and writing skills
