Intern will work under the direction of AVP of Finance for the West Region of NFP

What you will do:
  • Advertising & Marketing Audit: work alongside firm marketing directors and regional marketing and finance staff to appropriately tag and track the approved 2022 budgeted spend of advertising and marketing dollars. Tracking can be done through Strategic Ledger Values that link to financial systems and allow the individual firm and region as a whole to identify buckets of expense by either event name or marketing type. As well, the individual firms may have insurance carrier contributions that can offset NFP marketing spend, which can be similarly tracked against the approved 2022 budget.
  • Ad Hoc Producer collaboration: work alongside regional sales lead and firm specific sales staff (producers) to audit and report on sales pipeline, marketing spend, branding opportunities etc in order to extend their sales opportunities.
  • Producer and Broker agreement audit: work alongside the regional producer compensation, human resources / payroll, and finance leads to identify and organize our library of regional agreements. Once agreements are cataloged then agreements would be compared to actual commissions paid for internal sales staff (producers) and external vendor referrals (brokers) to ensure that our pay schedules a) match executed agreements and b) align with regional standards of pay.
  • TBO Accounting for Colorado: work alongside regional accounting team and Colorado specific firm to input 2021 transactional data into their firm’s accounting software, called Sage. As well, the transactional level data would be compared to bank reconciliations for that same time period to ensure accuracy and completeness of the system.
  • There will be more ad-hoc reporting, analysis and special projects as needed.

Who you are:
  • College student pursuing a BA/BS or Masters in Accounting, or related business discipline
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles
