Licensed Therapist Sr (LPC, LCSW, LMFT)

Job Description:

Pay Rate starting at $27.23/hr
I) Job Purpose
A) The position of the Licensed Therapist Sr. is to provide leadership, clinical, and administrative support to the QMHP-CS and Support staff of the clinic. Assist the Program Manager (PM) in effectively and efficiently achieving the goals and objectives of the clinic. Provide support to PM for coordination of Quality Assurance functions. Must be able to interact and cooperate with other departments. Assist PM to monitor performance expectations and responsive support to clinic staff to complete their job duties. Act as primary resource to QMHP-CS staff. Some travel is required. Will cover for PM in his/her absence at the clinic.
B) This position includes facilitating operations between the ACT Program and Early Onset Psychosis Program.
II) Essential Functions
A) Provide support to Program Manager in direct supervision of QMHP-CS and support staff and day-to-day operational aspects of the clinic.
 Performance Requirement(s):
  • Provide support to QMHP-CS and Support staff in clinic.
  • Monitor individual services for quality and clinical appropriateness.
  • Manage caseload and provide rehab services.
  • Models behavior that promotes team-based services to individuals.
  • Manages time use and priorities consistent with deadlines.
  • Encourages and participates in exchange of information on individual issues, crisis management, and solution focus among unit staff.
  • Provide back-up data entry and clinic flow management.
  • Provide back-up support to staff in the clinic.
B) Works with Program Manager of clinic to develop/modify unit goals, policies, and procedures to meet needs of unit.
 Performance Requirement(s):
  • Participates in staff meetings, treatment team meetings to provide information, support, training, and/or consultation to unit staff.
  • Reviews reports as assigned by Program Manager to follow up with unit staff as needed for improvement/corrections.
  • Maintains and fosters positive cooperative relationships and communication between unit staff and inter/intra-agency programs.
  • Attends agency meetings as requested.
  • Maintains positive, professional attitude in interactions with other agency programs.
  • Completes reports and/or assignments as requested by Program Manager.
C) Works as member of clinic treatment team.
 Performance Requirement(s):
  • Attends scheduled treatment team meetings.
  • Provides input and engages in solution focus with other team members.
  • Maintains positive, professional attitude in interactions with other team members.

D) Maintains all required training
 Performance Requirement
  • Will complete all agency-required training within the first 60 days of hire.
  • Will update all training as specified in agency procedures or as directed by the Clinical Supervisor and/or Program Manager 100% of the time.
  • Maintains current licensure, and practices in accordance with standards set by Texas Board of Social Work Examiners, Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists or the State Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors 100% of the time.
  • Will acquire approval from the Program Manager to attend special trainings at least two weeks in advance of the training 100% of the time
E) Performs face to face assessment as part of the initial eligibility determination process for individuals seeking services from MHMR Tarrant. This includes evaluation of diagnostic eligibility according to target population guidelines and program guidelines.
 Performance Standards:
  • Complete the initial assessment, including assigning a provisional diagnosis, on all assigned individuals 100% of the time.
  • Makes appropriate referrals for follow-up care 100% of the time.

F) Provides short-term crisis resolution based therapy to assigned clients as needed.
Performance Standards:
  •  Successfully engages clients in therapeutic process, providing short-term therapy as needed as agency need dictate.
G) Provides SBIRT services as program demands.
 Performance Standards:
  •  Successfully completes referrals for SBIRT with appropriate follow up 100% of the time.
H) Thoroughly documents treatment provided to clients.
Performance Standards:
  • All documentation is present in chart/data system within 24 hours of service provided.
  • All documentation is completed according to MHMRTC policies and procedures and Texas Health and Human Services Community Standards.
I) Provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to patients within the scope of ACT program.
Performance Standards:
  •  Follows up on referrals for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy 100% of the time.
J) Exhibits a willingness to assume additional duties; seeks the guidance of supervisor prior to beginning an unfamiliar assignment.
K) Regular attendance is required.
L) Complete additional duties as assigned.

J) Demonstrate skills in performing assessment of client needs and in synthesizing data gained in assessment into comprehensive treatment plans, which address needs in terms meaningful to the client.
K) Demonstrate knowledge of local community resources plus knowledge and ability to work within agency political contexts.
L) Demonstrate knowledge and ability to work within agency and intra-agency political contexts.
M) Demonstrate skills in making productive referrals, negotiating assertively from an advocacy based client-centered perspective with a variety of public service agency professionals.
N) Demonstrate ability to recognize barriers and issues between service systems and ability to utilize personal arbitration/conflict-resolution strategies in difficult service integration situations.
O) Demonstrate ability to work independently, organize work efficiently, and prioritize response to changing needs of individual clients.
P) Demonstrate the ability to cope with frustration while serving in goal-directed pursuits or resources
Q) Demonstrate the ability to work in a non-judgmental manner with clients whose belief systems may be based on values different from those of the QMHP-CS
R) Demonstrate the ability to initiate and maintain productive contact with a variety of service providers
S) Demonstrate the ability to articulate clearly and concisely both in verbal and written modes.
T) Demonstrate knowledge of human personality development, abnormal psychology, and substance use
U) Demonstrate the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team
V) Demonstrate the ability to accept direction and make constructive use of professional and clinical supervision.
W) Demonstrate the ability to develop knowledge of major classes of medications and related side effects.
X) Possess effective organizational, communication and time management skills, be self-directed, motivated, and able to work autonomously.
Y) Demonstrate the ability to acquire knowledge of Medicaid standards, Community Standards, and payer requirements for services.
Z) Demonstrate the ability to enter times worked into KRONOS daily and approve timecard in KRONOS at end of pay period.
IV) Internal & External Customer Service
This position requires extensive internal and external contacts with clients, family members, significant others, service providers, and practitioners. The Team Leader will accomplish this with exceptional written and verbal skills. Other contacts may include, but are not limited to: John Peter Smith Hospital, Family Services, Social Security Administration, Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Regulatory and Protective Services, other area hospitals, local law enforcement
V) Travel
This position requires driving to and from locations for work and/and may require overnight traveling. Employees are required to have a license in good standing and be able to be covered by agency liability insurance. If personal vehicle is utilized for work travel, then maintaining personal auto insurance coverage is required.
