Income Tax Compliance Summer 2023 Internship

At Weyerhaeuser, we are an industry leader with a strong environmental, social and governance foundation. We sustainably manage forests and manufacture wood products that make the world a better place. We’re committed to our company values: safety, integrity, citizenship, sustainability, and inclusion. We’re driven to achieve excellence and proud of what we do. With multiple business lines in locations across North America, we offer a range of exciting career opportunities for smart, talented people like you who are passionate about making a difference.

At the forefront of our opportunities is the income tax compliance summer internship at our Seattle Headquarters.

During the income tax compliance internship, you will be a member of the team responsible for the federal and state income tax compliance of our company and its subsidiaries. You will have the opportunity to prepare our state income tax returns, where you will gather financial data, perform calculations in our working papers, and ultimately complete the return in our tax software. You will work alongside experienced professionals who will guide you in researching and analyzing tax issues and incorporating law changes into the filings.

As a Weyerhaeuser tax intern, you can expect to:

-         Network with and receive coaching from a wide array of individuals, including senior leaders
-         Put the skills and knowledge that you have gained in your coursework to practice doing work that matters to our long-term success
-         Innovate and help us achieve our Operational Excellence goals (Operational Excellence is our term for process improvement, a key and constant focus at Weyerhaeuser)
-         Visit operations to see how our products are grown, produced, and sold (contingent on safe conditions)
-         Gain practical experience and exposure to important software, which may include SAP, Power BI, OneSource tax, and the full Microsoft Office suite.
-         Learn about how a tax background can lead to a long-term successful career at Weyerhaeuser, whether that is in the tax department, accounting department, or our broader finance organization.

Our internship program last ten weeks or more, and currently offers a hybrid work structure, where employees can work a minimum of three days a week from home.

We know you have a choice in your career. We want you to choose us! If you believe in the same core values that we do – safety, integrity, citizenship, sustainability, and inclusion – then we believe Weyerhaeuser will be an incredible place for you to develop and grow your career.
