IT Intern - Deskside Service (Summer 2023)

Arconic is currently in search of an IT Intern to join our Arconic IT Deskside Service Team in Pittsburgh, PA.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Responsibilities
  • Work as a team member in the IT Service Management Organization
  • Work on the IT Governance and Compliance Team, reporting to the team leader
  • Lead a project to redesign and deploy the IT Disaster Recovery (DR) process
  • Complete other day to day governance and compliance tasks at the direction of the team leader
  • Operate within Arconic IS standards and conventions and applicable Arconic BU/RU IT Standards
  • Work across a global IT team to share information and best practices
Key Objectives
  • Lead the Disaster Recovery (DR) Redesign project, beginning to end
  • Redesign the overall DR process
  • Certify the classification of assets
  • Redesign and communicate the templates, workflow, and tools used in the process
  • Ensure the process is scalable across Arconic IT
  • Work closely with all IT functions (Applications, Infrastructure, BU IT, Security)
  • Exposure to how a large corporation handles security, regulation compliance, and risk management
  • Add value to the company through key IT project and task deliverables
  • Bring a new perspective and new ideas to IT efforts and processes
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with a wide variety of people, via face to face, over the phone, via email, via Microsoft Teams and in writing
Basic Qualifications
  • Credits toward a bachelor’s degree in IS/IT or similar, from an accredited institution
  • Basic understanding of algorithms, systems analysis and design, database concepts, and networking concepts
  • Current cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of algorithms, systems analysis and design, database concepts, and networking concepts
  • Prior work experience in an IT role
  • Leadership experience
