Data Analytics Intern
Internship Description
Intern will learn how to work with real-life data and report requests from users, create organization and system flow charts for documentation, and the finer skills of using Excel for reporting work occurring outside of the desired systems. They will also get hands-on experience with SQL Relational databases.
Intern will assist with making user job title and department updates in various data platforms. Intern will assist with making job aids, running and creating reports in EMR and other data platforms, intern will assist with Excel operations for data analytics and report functions that can't be done natively within the system they are pulling the data from. Intern will receive direct oversight from data analytics managers and director, with structured weekly supervision to ensure enriching experience.
Minimum Qualifications
H.S. Diploma, active enrollment at a technical college, trade school, or university. Must be seeking a degree related to Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Project Management.
Required Skills
Technical skills are important, the intern must have the ability to use Excel at an advanced level. If the intern's discipline/area of study is to become a Project Manager or Business Analyst, then it would be expected for them to have a basic working knowledge of how to create a flowchart/perform basic process mapping and discovery, doing this in MS Visio is desired. If the intern's discipline/area of study is Data analytics, they must have entry level SQL and Data Analytics understanding, including use of basic SQL functions and relational databases with SQL. Experience with Cognos IBM is preferred, but not required.
