Finance Intern - FP&A

Our Finance team ensure we are accountable and on track to company strategies. Their responsibilities include forecasting, in-season management, and analysis across business units. From sales and margin to operations and expenses, our Finance team provides consistent, accurate information to cross-functional partners to support PetSmart's growth initiatives.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • Performs annual planning, monthly forecasting, and monthly variance analysis
  • Utilize trend analysis to identify risks/opportunities and influence business decisions
  • Streamline financial processes, reporting, and communication to make team and business more productive
  • Build a personal knowledge base of our internal strategies, trends, commonly used metrics and corporate drivers
  • Develop financial models that support strategic initiatives and day to day business operations while providing analytics and key information to assist leadership to evaluate critical financial decisions
  • Extract data from multiple sources using different tools and synthesizing information into manageable components
  • Engages closely with the business areas they support to understand business structure and objectives to provide financial guidance and support effectively.
  • Present your recommendations and innovative ideas to PetSmart leaders.
  • Develop and grow your skills with the support of a caring manager and dedicated mentor.

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field
  • Interest in the Finance discipline
  • Solid critical thinking ability and use of analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access)
  • Must be able to produce work in a collaborative, team environment
  • Willingness to relocate to Phoenix, Arizona for the summer and potential future FT role
