Paraprofessional Intern - Internal Audit

Job Summary: The intern will assist with various projects throughout the assignment, including, but not limited to:
  1. Project Title: System Data Analysis
Project Description:  Assist in performing data and report analysis in finance, accounting, purchasing, and other District systems
  • Use Microsoft tools to collect and report the results of this analysis
  • Assist with the development of workflows and work plans
  • Prioritize assignments, use judgment to determine the best course of action, and to maintain oneself professionally
2. Project Title: Departmental Assistance
Project Description:  Participate in Internal Audit Activities as Needed
  • Learn other software
  • Understand Audit Processes and audit software HighBond
  • Assist with Department Reporting
3. Other duties as assigned

**Note: All Projects will be formally evaluated at established intervals using the performance evaluation form at the mid- and end points of the assignment. The feedback & coaching sessions will occur on a regular basis throughout the assignment based upon the supervisor’s schedule (e.g., weekly, monthly).
1. Intern will be evaluated using the following methods:
  • Ongoing Review of Work Product
  • Performance Evaluation
  • Feedback & Coaching Sessions
 
2. All workers are evaluated on the following criteria:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Academic Status/Standing:
  • Candidate must be enrolled in school or must have graduated within 24 months from the date of application.
Field of Study:
  • Declared Majors: Accounting, Finance, Audit or related field of study.
Degree Program Levels:
Any of the following degree program levels may qualify:
  • Bachelor Degree (Junior/Senior)
  • Master/Doctoral Degree
 
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Candidate must be able to work 20 - 40 hours per week. Working hours are Monday – Friday during normal business hours. Work hours will be adjusted as appropriate for interns who are enrolled in school.
  • Candidate must be able to commit to up to a 12-month assignment with an option to extend the assignment at NEORSD’s discretion. This internship program provides for a time-limited role at NEORSD with no express or implied guarantee of future employment beyond the assignment period. This position is governed by all applicable NEORSD administrative policies, practices and procedures related to temporary employees.
  • Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
