Basic Purpose

To provide actionable business intelligence in consultation with management and business units for use in daily and strategic decision making. Apply industry best practices and standards to create optimum solutions that improve business performance. To coordinate and conduct system analyses through data acquisition and modeling. To identify, coordinate, document, and implement business requirements by determining solutions and provide data analysis and reporting solutions to the business. To analyze business needs and develop and implement. Work with the business to understand their needs, related to information technology and enhance business process by promoting new functionality. Use working knowledge of the organization’s technology infrastructure and specific software applications, assist the business to implement strategic vision through technology. The Summer Associate will work with the Member Intelligence Systems & Reporting team based at Headquarters in Vienna, VA. 

The Summer Associate Graduate Intern Program is a 10+ week graduate internship program beginning in May 2023 and ending in August 2023. The intention of this program is to hire graduate interns who prove their aptitude into full time roles following graduation. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a graduate or PhD level degree from an accredited college or university with an anticipated graduation date of December 2023 or later.

Responsibilities

• Analyze NFCU data, requirements, process, metrics
• Lead/coordinate projects related to NFCU data warehouse 
• Identify business requirements (e.g., needs, objectives, functions, features, input and output) 
• Analyze, define and document technical design for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating systems environment, interface with other systems, internal and external controls and output 
• Interact with clients to understand and deliver solutions to their data problems/requirements
• Demonstrate analytical thinking skill by breaking down complex problems or processes, identifying causes and effect patterns, and analyzing problems to arrive to an appropriate solution
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to extract and analyze data from various sources, utilize strong SQL skills, develop BI reports and dashboards, and present findings from data
• Tackle internal projects to improve the quality/integrity of data
• Create data visualizations with Power BI or IBM Cognos Analytics
• Present findings to internal stakeholders
• Develop training materials or assist with data analytics related training classes for internal employees
• Develop, test, and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehousing (DW) solutions
• Evaluate and define requirements for BI and DW solutions
• Define and build data integration processes to be used across the organization
• Recognize issues and risks during implementation and suggest mitigation strategies

• Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Data Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, or other related degree

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee's leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.

Salary Range: $41.00 - $46.00 hourly
