Social Impact Co-op

We are currently hiring for our next Social Impact Program Co-Op at our office in the Seaport District of Boston, MA. This position is from July-December 2023.

The Social Impact Programs Co-op position will primarily support the Social Impact team specifically through our donations program, brand specific cause marketing efforts, and engagement of internal community of coworkers. This Co-op presents the opportunity support the work of the Social Impact team focused on the Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream program that is focused on providing access to capital and sound business advice to food and beverage entrepreneurs. Paired with the opportunity to engage with cause marketing, there will also be an opportunity to grow our community impact through the donations program and support of our volunteer program. Lastly, the Social Impact team is focused on Diversity Equity and Inclusion and will work on projects in collaboration with our Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The Co-op will be able to work generally on many tasks (gaining broad experience), while simultaneously focusing on a few tasks (achieving specific accomplishments).

This Co-op gives the student the opportunity to learn about all aspects of the Boston Beer Company including communications, public relations, social media, corporate social responsibility and brand marketing. The Co-op will gain important resume-building experience in a fast-paced corporate environment. The Co-op will work cross functionally with both internal and external stakeholders where day to day activities will never be one in the same.
*A Hybrid position at Boston Beer requires that our coworkers reside within commuting distance to be onsite according to their teams’ weekly schedule. 

What You'll Brew:

  • Support execution of in person and digital programming for the Brewing the American Dream Program
  • Manage and lead the social media for Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream
  • Assist with Donations through inbox administration, paperwork processing, and relationship management with community partners
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Brewing the American Dream entrepreneurs through Coaching Call support, inbox administration, and new entrepreneur onboarding
  • Administer and track progress with Boston Beer Volunteers platform
  • Collaborate with the Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion on execution of projects and research
  • Participate in in person events as it related to community impact both with external partners and internal Boston Beer coworkers
  • Research partners, events, and ideas as it relates to cause marketing, community impact, and potentially, Diversity Equity & Inclusion
  • There will be opportunities for the student to volunteer for some special projects and events (if interested)
What Ingredients You’ll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor's Degree program - Course work and interest in in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility, Cause Marketing, etc. is strongly preferred.
  • Student must be 21 years of age.
  • Valid Social Security Number needed by first day of employment
  • Represent Boston Beer Company at all times; the person in this role will interact with many people in and outside of the company
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook; Design experience is preferred
  • Prior customer service experience is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Professional attitude and demeanor
  • Must be self-motivated and proactive
  • Good team player and will to work with different stakeholders
