Sales & Operations Intern

Sales & Operations Internship- Cleveland, OH (Summer 2023) 
 
JOB SUMMARY
The Sales & Operations Intern will assist with various projects throughout the assignment. The 11-week program will start with an introduction to our company and provide the opportunity to rotate through our Service, Parts, and Sales departments. Projects will include reviewing/updating product support department policies/procedures, projects within Field Service Lightning, Salesforce entry/analytics reporting, new sales, Fleet Management policies/procedures, and other projects as assigned.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales

  • Develop product knowledge of the material handling industry.
  • Work actively in Salesforce to provide reporting, analytics, and customer data.
  • Understand how Salesforce can impact sales activity
  • Develop business development skills by role-playing and preparing for sales calls
  • Learn and understand the consultative sales approach and strategy
  • Understand how to set up a daily itinerary, including customer visits, quoting, and customer follow-up.
  • Learn and understand how to make a cold call.
  • Develop a method of researching potential customers using industry data and other business resources.
  • Understand the importance of “internal customers.”
  • Be able to represent yourself professionally in a business setting.
  • Research and generate lists of potential new customers
Operations & Service

  • Provides full-service administrative support on various department projects, including Field Service Lightning reporting, Customer Service Feedback, Audits, and Productivity. 
  • Coordinates, schedules, and organizes resources to meet department objectives.  
  • Researches all relevant information about department projects and provides fact summaries, making recommendations for action.
  • Ensures proper facilitation, inputting, and recording of all departmental-related data. 
  • Keeps track of data and provides ongoing analysis, providing recommendations.
  • Collects pertinent information by asking questions of appropriate staff and utilizing available resources.
  • Actively learn the sales, service, and parts process, seeking process efficiency along the way
  • Help develop client relationships and retain existing accounts.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature as required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, majoring in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Logistics, Transportation, Sales, and/or a related field
 
EXPERIENCE

  • Previous management/business classes completed.
  • Previous work experience, either as an intern/co-op and/or other various roles held
 
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work independently and to effectively prioritize demands and execute tasks.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information to internal and external customers clearly and concisely.
  • Valid Driver’s License
