We are looking for talented students to hire for our Summer Internship Program who can help initiate our solution-based business model to the next level. As an intern at NJ TRANSIT, you will oversee projects from concepts to completion. Our interns are steps away from having the opportunity at a hands-on experience with several business units within NJ TRANSIT. Our ideal candidate is passionate about learning and using creative solutions to make an impact on the lives of others every day.
Objective of this role:
· The Employee Engagement Intern would be responsible for assisting in Marketing and efforts in various day-to-day tasks within the department.
· This position assists in some administrative tasks, but an interested candidate should be willing to take a hands-on role in marketing for the key summer initiatives like Six Flags, Dorney Park ticketing and New Jersey Employee Charities Campaign.
· This will consist of face-to-face interactions with our "customers," the people who make up NJ TRANSIT.
· This role will assist in organizing products/storage and in shipping, which may require some lifting.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Computer Skills (MS Office Suite, Photoshop and Publisher)
· Customer Service experience a plus
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Current college student having been previously enrolled in semester directly prior to internship
· Marketing or Business degree preferred
· Ability to lift 20 pounds when necessary for product storage needs and transportation
· Valid driver’s license required for frequent commuting to NJ TRANSIT HQ’S Penn Plaza, Newark, and various other areas throughout the Transit System
Working Environment:
· Position will not be stationed at a single type of facility, but rather visit both administrative buildings and also facilities around the system to promote and support our summer Employee Engagement activations.
