Health Plan Member Services Undergraduate Intern

Department Name:  Health Plan Member Services
Department Overview:  The Denver MSCC handles member and provider interactions via, phone, chat and email for the Colorado, California, Georgia, and MAS regions. Our objective is to handle these interactions with the highest level of service and efficiency in order to provide an affordable and effortless healthcare experience for our members.
Intern Project(s):  Supporting multiple Projects to include:
  • Solidifying process to onboard leaders (Team Managers, Interim TMs, etc.)
  • Define CSAT process for those following below threshold.
  • Develop consistent process for supporting IDPs & how to track accordingly.
  • Assist with up training and core concept development for Team Managers- Systems applications for best use, Interpretation of key reports, etc. (define a process to support ongoing)
  • Coordinate/develop training to help leaders with time management & organization.
*Additional/modified projects may be prioritized based on need.
Target skill set: Project Management/Process Improvement background
  • Training background a plus
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize work based on business need
  • Ability to identify gaps, needs, and issues into strategies and action plans
  • Coordinates team/project activities and schedules
  • Ability to communicate results/recommendations to Denver Leaders
  • Plan and facilitate meetings
  • Intermediate skills in excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio

Position Type: Remote
Internship Duration: 10-12 weeks

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.
  • Report development and analytics.
  • Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.
  • Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.
  • Job shadowing in other functional areas.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Additional Requirements:
  • Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
  • 3.0 GPA or above.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
