Intern-Network and Communications

We’re committed to being the clean energy leader in Louisiana. By investing in renewables like solar and utilizing carbon capture and sequestration technology to make our air cleaner, we’re in this for the long haul, because our state and future generations depend on it. Come be a part of our journey and Power Up Your Career at Cleco.
Are you looking for an internship to jumpstart your career after college? If so, you've come to the right place! Cleco has exciting internship opportunities. We are currently searching for college students interested in gaining hands-on experience at a leading energy company. Our internships have a specific focus, but often get broader exposure to Cleco’s business, gaining insight into different areas of the company and into the energy industry. And, we’re always looking for bright new talent.
Most of our internships are full-time summer positions, and we also offer the ability to continue on as a part-time year-round intern that can be flexible to accommodate your class schedule. All internships are paid and many of them can result in full-time jobs down the road, based on performance.
We do require that our interns be enrolled in a full-time bachelor or master’s program and be actively taking classes. If your school requires that internships earn academic credit, we can work with them to facilitate that.
These internships will offer the individual the opportunity to assist with troubleshooting end user issues, learning telecommunications equipment and technology, networking principles, documentation, and ticket management systems. The Information Technology interns for these projects will need to demonstrate strong problem solving abilities to support Cleco’s Technology Vision & strategy.
As a member of the Cleco IT Team, the IT Intern will have the opportunity to learn and apply an analytical problem solving approach to a diverse set of business questions. The IT Intern will work directly with the Managers and members of the IT team, as well as other stakeholders who work with technology across the business. This internship will prepare the candidate for future work in the field of IT by equipping them to leverage a variety of tools and techniques to answer business questions.

  • Radio technologies (Licensed and unlicensed)
