Join National Heritage Academies (NHA) this summer as an Audit Intern! The available position reports directly to the Manager of Finance Audit and was created to support a team of business professionals who manage financial and program audits for the organization.

In this role you will work out of our Service Center located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The NHA Service Center is where all the behind-the-scenes magic happens. Our brilliant team members are brag-worthy. With a diverse group of departments like admissions, talent acquisition, facilities, legal services, and many more working together to provide top level back-office support. The Service Center is a place of bright colors, smiling faces, and opportunity. 

In This Role: 
The Financial Services team is a fun team to be a part of.  You will learn a lot about public accounting and work hard.  Our summers are full of excitement as we work with external auditors to prepare school financial statements and pull audit documents per their request.  Sound good to you?   • You will make a real impact and be doing real work…. And we mean more than just getting us coffee.  You will be assisting with the preparation of financial statements to complete an external audit.  
  • Work with a team of talented and passionate financial audit professionals.  By the end of the summer, you will love public accounting just as much as we do… and if you don’t, we trick you to make you think you do. 
  • Be paid.  Yes, this is a paid internship… and we don’t mean in experience and skills.  You will get those too, but in this internship, you get real actual money. 

Requirements: 
  • Good communication both written and verbal.  You’ll be working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders! If you know how to send smoke signals, although cool, we really don’t need that.  We are happy with just good written and verbal communication. 
  • Entry-level accounting skills. 
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and assignments.  Standing on one foot, while chewing gum and juggling is not required.  However, if you can do that, we would love to see it.   
  • Must still be in college.  If you already graduated… sorry, but check out our careers page! 

 What we offer you: 
  • 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm! 
  • $14/hr 
  • Meetings with company leaders, VPs and CEO! 
  • Formal programming each week to grow professionally!
