Assistant Program Director – Home Study/Post Release Services through ORR

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: ORR Home Study and Post Release Program  
Morrison is proud to provide a wide range of services for youth and families, including residential care and support services for immigrant youth. These include a short-term shelter, a long-term group home and our Home Study and Post Release Program. The Home Study and Post Release Program provides case management services to youth being reunified with a family member or family friend as they transition out of ORR (Office of Refugee Resettlement) care. Case Managers travel nationally and provide support to families to ensure that youth are in a safe and positive environment where they can best thrive.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Program Director provides support to the Program Director in overseeing the needs of the program are met. The position ensures that all clients receive supportive services in their community and assures that safety and well-being of youth who have been released from ORR. The Assistant Program Director may substitute for the Program Director during period of leave, and serves as secondary liaison with ORR.
 
Main Job Duties:
· Substitutes for the Program Director during a period of leave, and serves as secondary liaison with ORR.
· Works with Program Director to assure that all ORR required services are provided.
· Directly supervises Case Manager Supervisors, Case Managers, Administrative Coordinators and others, as assigned.
· Ensures that staff are hired, trained and onboarded.
· Ensures Safety and Compliance requirements are met for the office.
· Participates in Case Staffings and problem solves cases with a multi-disciplinary team.
· Develops and proposes program policies and procedures to Program Director.
 
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, sociology or other relevant behavioral science plus 5 years of progressive employment experience with a social services or childcare agency or organization 
  • 1 year supervising a team of individuals, participating in a leadership role or management role.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
 
Other Requirements:
  • Pass a DHS criminal history background
  • May work at multiple ORR Programs 

  • STARTING PAY RANGE:  
Bilingual (Spanish): $28.88- $31.89
