JOB SUMMARY:
The Community Based Mental Health Therapist (MHT) will provide in-home and community-based comprehensive and individualized mental health services to youth, ages 2-18, and their families. These services include assessment, treatment planning, safety planning, individual and family therapy, as well as crisis support, care coordination, and case management. This position will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and clients receiving community-based services will also have access to skills training and medication management. Our Community-Based Program is meant to provide short-term (3-6 months) intensive services for clients experiencing acute behavioral health and crisis response needs. Each therapist carries a caseload of 8-10 clients who reside in the Portland-Metro area.
Our therapists are trained and supported to provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive care to our clients. Additionally, each therapist is provided an annual training budget that can be used toward outside trainings, licensing/registration fees, or licensure testing fees.
In-house Licensure supervision toward LCSW, LPC and LMFT is provided!
Position/Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential functions include the following duties and responsibilities, competencies, and other characteristics. The incumbent in this position is required to perform the following duties, which is representative to the level of work appropriate to this position.)
- Provides mental health services for our community-based program: Assessment, treatment planning, individual and family therapy.
- Provides case management, crisis support, safety planning, coordination of care, referrals to ancillary and/or specialty services, and group therapy, as needed.
- Completes all clinical documentation in accordance with state, federal and organizational requirements, with an emphasis on collaborative documentation.
- Applies knowledge of the local mental health system and collaborates with partners such as Coordinated Care organizations, Department of Human Services, Wraparound Services, Primary Care Providers, Emergency Departments/Services, and other Mental Health Providers.
- Recognizes personal strengths and limitations, feelings and needs.
- Verbally and non-verbally de-escalates crisis situations in a manner that protects dignity and integrity.
Education and Work Experience:
A typical background for the person who can fulfill the duties of this position is as follows:
- Master’s level degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health, social services, educational, or other related setting.
- Must be able to meet QMHP requirements under State of Oregon MHDD Division’s Administrative rules OR meet board requirements for CSWA, LPC Associate or LMFT Associate qualification.
Other Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred (verbal and written communication).
- Pass a DHS criminal history background
- Ability to work on-call rotation every 4-6 weeks. (Will receive a $150 stipend for every week on-call)
- Must hold valid driver’s license— Oregon or Washington within 30 days of hire and meet agency driving requirements
Starting Pay Range:
Unlicensed MHT: $66,000-$70,200/year ($31.74-$33.75/hour)
Licensed MHT: $71,800-$77,100/year (34.56-$37.03/hour)
Unlicensed MHT- Bilingual-Spanish: $71,400- $75,900/ year ($34.33- $36.51 per hour)
Licensed MHT- Bilingual Spanish: $77,700 - $83,300/ year ($37.39 - $40.06/hour)
