Marketing Communications Intern

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, creative analytical thinker to join our Marketing Communications department and provide support to help achieve our design and branding goals. You will have design production duties including laying out documents in Adobe InDesign, manipulating graphics/photos using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Candidate must have a passion for all things design. You will work closely with our marketing team on a range of projects, assisting them and gaining insight into the design process for our multiple channels.
As a marketing intern, you will collaborate with our Marketing Communications team in all stages of design. Your insightful contributions will help support the STERIS Life Sciences brand throughout all of our business channels.

This internship will help you acquire practical marketing and design skills and provide you with knowledge of various marketing branding and design strategies. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in design and should be prepared to enter any fast-paced work environment.

Key Internship Information:

  • Paid Internship 
  • Full-Time (40 hours) - This is a full-time internship Monday-Friday 
  • Location - This is a hybrid role and requires interns to work weekly at our Mentor, Ohio facility 

What You Will Do

  • Support the marketing team in daily design production and trafficking tasks
  • Work through design projects from concept through finished published pieces
  • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities using the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Assist with development of concepts and marketing strategies for promoting the work of the various business units

Required Experience

  • Design portfolio or collection of design samples (You should be able to show concept work and/or explain how you arrived at your design solution.)
  • Strong knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (esp. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Motion graphics/Adobe After Effects experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Products (esp. Powerpoint, Word)
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Willingness and ability to work collaboratively
  • Attention to detail, flexible and fast learner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for design
  • Current enrollment in a related BS or Master’s degree
