Our internship program is designed to give you comprehensive experience in the fast-paced world of wireless and technology industries. With hands-on field experience and business projects, you will get an in-depth look at how our business works and where you fit into it. Help us build our brand while we help you build yours.
Our interns partner with teams across DISH working to drive our latest game-changing innovation. Our internship is a 10 week, in-person experience that is paid hourly with eligible overtime. Interns are given a business project(s) to complete over the summer and present their results to leadership and their peers. DISH provides each intern with a manager and a mentor to support them with the execution of their project.
 
This opportunity is located onsite in El Paso, TX.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

As an intern at DISH you could be supporting any of our business lines:

  • Sling: Innovating live TV streaming through choice and opportunity.
  • On tech: Meeting the needs of a Smart Home Revolution.
  • Wireless: Building America’s first and only cloud native open RAN 5G network to redefine the way people and things connect.
 
The Manufacturing and Distribution teams at DISH play a critical role in ensuring that the millions of set-top boxes and devices across the country uphold DISH standards for performance and innovation and are managed in an environmentally conscious way. You may support the manufacturing operations by improving processes, fixtures and large-scale production layouts. Or you might work in Quality Assurance where you will use cutting-edge tools and advanced statistical sampling to ensure all DISH hardware meets our standards.
 
Below are some of the roles interns are hired into:
  • Software Engineer
You are a full stack engineer who wants to implement both back-end and front-end software solutions. You will work in an agile team to develop these projects and develop complete systems to better our customer’s experiences!
  • Process/Industrial Engineer Intern  
You will support company and site mission to streamline processes in a high volume, low mix manufacturing plant. You will rely on your industrial engineering knowledge and training to sharpen and streamline product and process flows. You may utilize process maps, value-stream maps , and other IE tools to analyze, improve/minimize waste streams and bring more value to the manufacturing process. You will interface with other engineers in other disciplines to bring improvement to the factory.
 
  • Analyst/Developer Intern
As an Analyst/Developer Intern you will be responsible for developing new business analytical solutions to integrate communications and data analysis within and between departments. In this role, you will help lead successful transformation in the way we do business by identifying and combining data to provide meaningful and fluid information to our operations.
 
  • Business Operations Analyst Intern
Business Operations Analyst interns work across all our lines of business! You will work cross-functionally with multiple organizations within Dish acting as a strategist, internal consultant, and project manager to implement new company initiatives and simplify business processes. You will use data to drive decision making no matter which department you help to support.
 
  • Project Coordinator Intern
As a project coordinator intern, you will help manage the design, plan, and implementation of strategic corporate projects. This could include project scheduling, status reviews, executive communication and approval, requirements gathering, documentation, or eventual deployment and implementation of the product and/or project. You will help to manage the coordination and project deliverables between internal teams and external partners. 
 

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Skills

  • Popular Area(s) of Study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering
  • Required Skills: Python, SQL
  • Other Skills: Labview, Ignition
 
Experience
  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor's or Master's degree program
 
Requirements
  • Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher
  • Fully onsite at location
  • Graduation Period: December 2023 - August 2024
  • Attend mandatory orientation on: Tuesday, May 30th, 2023.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment screen including a transcript evaluation, reference check, criminal background check, and possible drug test.


Compensation: $22/hr-$30/hr

Salary Range
Compensation: $22.00/Hour
