Learning & Development Intern - Summer 2023

Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal to dramatically improve people’s quality of life while protecting the environment. This goal will be accomplished through the commercialization of the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor (FHR) that can be deployed with robust safety, affordable costs, and flexible operation to accommodate the expansion of variable renewables.
Job Summary
Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated Learning & Development Intern with experience relevant to training, learning and development in a technical organization. In this role, you will contribute to the Learning & Development program to support all technical and operational teams working to develop the Kairos Power Fluoride Salt-Cooled High Temperature Reactor (KP-FHR). The ideal candidate has a hands-on approach to learning and training design. This candidate must also have excellent project management and communication skills, and should be comfortable working with diverse groups both in technical and non-technical positions. 
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate course development and drive schedules
  • Operate and manage the Learning Management System (LMS) and associated content control software
  • Manage administrative duties in LMS and other tools
  • Develop reports and compliance metrics
  • Support content development through each phase
  • Develop outlines, draft presentations and review content
  • Provide regular presentation updates on internship work and progress
  • Develop technical reports for engineering work that is conducted
  • Support leadership in onboarding activities
  • Create training content
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Current student pursuing Bachelors or Masters in Human Resources or related field
  • Experience with PowerPoint and Office Suite required
  • Proven team player with excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
  • Excellent teaching, training and coaching skills
  • Ability to work with highly collaborative team
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge 
  • Industry internships experience preferred
  • Experience within a Learning Management System is a plus
  • Experience with creating and facilitating training is a plus

The hourly range for this position is $25-27 employees working onsite at our Alameda, CA headquarters or $24-26 for remote employees working in California. The range provided in this job posting represents the typical range or starting rate of candidates hired in California.
