Communications and Development Assistant at Annex Teen Clinic

The Annex Teen Clinic is the industry leader in sexual health and education for young people through the age of 25. We provide the full range of birth control methods, STI testing and treatment, pregnancy testing and all-options counseling and referrals, as well as sexuality education.

WAGE RANGE: $15 - $17 per hour

JOB SUMMARY:
The Communications and Development Assistant works closely with the Development and Communications Team and is responsible for data entry and administrative tasks that ensure the department runs smoothly. This position requires a keen attention to detail and strong computer skills.

The ideal candidate is flexible, detail oriented, organized, and committed to increasing access to quality healthcare for teens and young adults. Previous experience with administrative work is encouraged but not required.

Flexible scheduling available. Must be able to work at least four of eight total hours per week onsite at the Annex during a Monday – Friday schedule between the hours of 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. The remaining four hours of the workweek may be completed remotely.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Enter donation information, process checks, and create thank you communications for Annex donors on a weekly basis.
  • Assist with compiling promotional materials such as printing and folding brochures, making buttons, and assembling safer sex kits.
  • Assist with data entry and quality improvement projects such as ensuring accurate donor records, updating the Annex’s listserv, and other special projects as assigned.
  • Assist with projects related to our annual fundraiser such as photographing and entering auction items into an online system.
  • Prep materials for mass mailings and marketing and outreach campaigns.

REQUIRED QUALIFICAITONS:
Education and Experience:
  • Previous experience entering data with accuracy in multiple databases preferred, and/or demonstrated ability to learn how to utilize online tools.
  • Previous experience using the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to follow donation processing policies and handle donor information and records confidentially.
  • Ability to work independently utilizing a high degree of problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in performing assigned duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs in the building to engage with various Annex staff and work from a basement office.
  • Ability to do repetitive motions such as folding brochures and using a keyboard.
  • Ability to work effectively in a mission-driven agency whose clients and staff exhibit significant diversity with respect to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, nationality, and religion.

COVID-19 Protocols: Annex Teen Clinic strongly advises employees to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Employees not fully vaccinated by December 31, 2021 must show proof upon hire of receiving the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna shot and the scheduled date in which they will receive the second dose. Weekly COVID testing will apply until the second dose is completed. For employees who elect not to get the vaccine, regular COVID testing will apply.
