Summer 2023 Intern (Columbia, MD)

Piper Internship Program 
 
Piper Companies is a rapidly growing recruiting firm seeking its next generation of talent to join the team. We are seeking multiple individuals for our Internship Program for the Summer of 2023, who are eager to begin a career in recruiting and/or sales.

We are looking for competitive, self-motivated individuals who have the drive to succeed and desire to learn the Staffing business. Our interns will have hands-on experience and the ability to contribute to the recruiting and sales cycle almost immediately. 
 
Our intern training program is going to include a mixture of classroom-style learning sessions, shadowing, and hands-on professional development while exposing them to all aspects of Piper Companies and the Staffing industry.

During this program interns will: 
·       Present job opportunities to candidates and negotiate contract terms 
·       Network for new business opportunities 
·       Proactively source and screen candidates for open positions  
·       Utilize LinkedIn to build networking and branding skills 
·       Partner with Account Managers to qualify requisitions and understand the skillsets sought by their customers  
·       Gain management and leadership skills valuable across all types of businesses  
·       Develop recruiting strategies to attract candidates in the local market 
·       Conduct phone screens and in-person interviews with prospective candidates 
·       Learn time management skills in a fast-paced environment 
·       Build a personal professional brand throughout LinkedIn and other professional social media 
·       Learn how to overcome objections from both clients and candidates 
 
Qualifications and Skills: 
·       Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university program as a rising Junior or Senior 
·       Self-starter with a strong competitive drive  
·       Ability to work in a fast-paced and team environment 
·       Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) 
·       Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
·       Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignment  
·       Have a ‘can do’ attitude with energy and enthusiasm 
·       Applicants should be eager to work in a sales environment  
·       Great Phone Presence
