Interventional Registered Nurse

Position Summary:
The role of the LPN/RN will include oversight of Spravato®, IV Ketamine, and TMS treatments as well as patient relationship development and care coordination.
We treat patients who have depression, anxiety, PTSD, mood conditions, and possible substance use disorders. Using various modalities, we aim to decrease depression, anxiety, and other mood symptoms while improving function, productivity, and quality of life.
Your primary responsibility will be managing IV Ketamine and Spravato® Treatments while under the supervision of a CRNA and MD/prescriber. You will observe numerous patients throughout the day and monitor them before, during, and after treatment. You will also be cross-trained to support and provide TMS services as well as: coordinate prior authorizations and ordering/delivery of Spravato® medications, coordinate follow-up appointments with prescribers, and other clinical duties as requested.

We are looking for LPNs/RN's who are very confident in their clinical skills and who are team players wanting to contribute toward significant improvement in the lives of patients.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provides compassionate nursing care to patients, quickly establishing and maintaining a positive therapeutic relationship with patients and families
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and under the direct supervision of a prescriber
  • Facilitates regular communication, including phone calls - among patients, clinic prescribers, mental healthcare providers, and other health care providers
  • Sets up patients for self-administration of Spravato® and monitors specific to REMS protocols
  • Sets up patients for administration of IV Ketamine – including placing IVs and monitors according to facility protocols
  • Closely monitors patients including their sedation level, blood pressure and pulse, oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, mental status, bladder volume, and assists them with their overall comfort
  • Effectively and promptly treats any side effects (with support from prescriber) from a patient's treatment including changes in their central nervous system, circulatory, respiratory, GI, musculoskeletal, or urinary systems within their scope of practice. This may include safely providing intramuscular (IM) injections if prescribed
  • Assesses, anticipates, and implements appropriate care throughout the treatment process
  • Displays expertise in safety principles, Spravato® REMS monitoring requirements, universal precautions, and sedation administration and monitoring of the sedated patient
  • Maintains Spravato® and IV Ketamine treatment rooms including the re-stocking of treatment areas as well as maintenance of clinical supplies and medications including ordering, storage, and inventory
  • Ensures controlled substance policy is followed including storage, inventory, and wastage
  • Coordinates prescriber administrative support duties including scheduling and maintaining patient appointments relative to all services offered that encompass patient treatment and communicates any problems to the prescriber
  • Investigate and communicate insurance coverage and verification issues
  • Comfortable with utilization of EMR as well as patient tracking system and accurately enters all patient information required into the system and record session notes and records appointments for billing by end of the day
  • Administers psychiatric rating scales and documents outcomes
  • Completes cross-training for support of TMS services
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/LICENSURE: A Pennsylvania state LPN or RN license is required. An Associate’s or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program is preferred.
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Experience with placing IVs strongly preferred
  • Experience with prior authorizations preferred
  • 2 years’ experience as a Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) strongly preferred
  • Completion of TMS Certification during training
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understanding and compliance with HIPAA

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly sitting for long periods at a desk while communicating on the phone and/or computer. This job also requires physically being able to walk, stand, stoop and bend. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
