Underwriting Property Analyst - (2300467)

The growing Cincinnati Re team is currently seeking to fill an entry-level underwriting position within the Property reinsurance team. Primary responsibilities include assisting our property underwriters with data analysis and pricing needs across various property reinsurance products and validating and summarizing data to help advance analytics in conjunction with our modeling/actuarial teams.
 The successful candidate will be technically minded, self-driven, and capable of converting raw data into a standardized and insightful format, so that our underwriters can assess and use in pricing and modeling work We are interested in candidates with strong analytical, quantitative, communication and marketing skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position does not require prior reinsurance experience, but familiarity with insurance concepts and risk management principles is a plus. The location of this position is in our Cincinnati headquarters, with remote work flexibility.
Salary: The pay range for this position is $62,000-$105,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance. 
Be ready to: 
  • assist Property Underwriters with account specific data entry, validation, and analysis
  • convert raw client data into a standardized format (data cleanup / prep for modeling). Assist in uploading / downloading data into SQL databases and pricing models
  • develop / Maintain Power BI reporting dashboards to address business needs and provide insights
  • assist Property Underwriting team with various ad hoc projects, which may require working cross functionally with other teams (Actuarial, Development, Legal, etc.)
  • research, collect and analyze both internal data and external industry data, and communicate key discoveries to stakeholders
  • assist with internal data reporting and marketing materials
  • work with underwriting assistant(s) and/or accounting team to update accounting system of record
Location
  • Cincinnati, OH with remote flexibility.
  • Periodic travel required, in a normalized post-COVID environment. 
Be equipped with:
  • knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Power BI and programming is a plus
  • exemplary analytical and critical thinking / problem-solving skills, attention to detail, decision making, written / verbal communication skills, organization and dependability
  • ability to perform work accurately and timely within tight deadlines and under moderate supervision
  • desire to work in a dynamic environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and learn from the hands-on work
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • 0-5 years of experience
You've earned:
  • relevant undergraduate degree required, preferably in Economics, Business, Risk Management & Insurance, Data Sciences, Actuarial Studies or Statistics/Mathematics
