Aon invites high-reaching rising seniors to join our 2024 Summer Internship Program within the Risk Solutions Group. Immerse yourself and make a tangible impact on our innovative and effective solutions for clients. 

 

The Risk Solutions group works to assess the risk a company has, or could have, and mitigates it through the placement of various insurance products and policies. We help clients achieve profit, growth, and continuity by delivering the best tailored and innovative risk solutions. Interns within Risk Solutions will gain valuable experience assisting Account Executives on assigned accounts across various industries.

What the day will look like                                                             

Aon’s Global Marine Specialty Practice is structured to deliver global capabilities locally. As the world’s leading broker, and as experts in marine coverages and market alternatives, Aon has unparalleled access to world insurance markets and new sources of capital, enabling us to design the optimal insurance and risk management program. We work closely with various clients and many industries – including but not limited to, manufactures, distributors, logistics, life science, energy and technology – to interpret their needs, using a data-driven approach and technology that collects and analyzes global market data in real time, to support carrier selection and negotiation.

  • Provide routine support in marketing new and renewal business, handling all aspects of the placements from initial market selection through policy delivery to client
  • Identify and analyze prospect and client exposures
  • Coordinate activities with other internal units as required to meet customer needs
  • Assist in the creation of quality market submissions
  • Aid in identifying and analyzing client exposures and determine which markets to utilize, ensuring thorough evaluation of qualified companies in the marketplace
  • Gain thorough knowledge of the Cargo insurance marketplace, products and services
  • Develop productive business relationships with key insurance underwriters and Aon local office teams
  • Build productive working relationships with peers and higher-level professionals internally and externally to exchange information and make recommendations

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Great teammate with independent work capability
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Desire to learn and embody Aon’s values: integrity, client commitment, and community dedication
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree Maritime, Business, Insurance preferred however open to all majors
  • Rising senior, graduating between December 2024 – June 2025

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $21.50 to $23.50 per hour. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

 

Aon offers a benefits package for temporary and seasonal employees who will work 20 or more hours per week including: medical, dental, and vision insurance at the employee’s expense, critical illness insurance, 10 Company holidays per calendar year (paid, if eligible), paid sick leave as provided under state and local law, and a 401(k) savings plan with employer contributions. Eligibility for benefits are governed by the applicable plan documents and policies.
