2025 BOLT Intern - Products Pipelines Chemistry Lab

BUSINESS UNIT:  PRODUCT PIPELINES 
 

Kinder Morgan is the largest independent transporter of petroleum products in North America, transporting approximately 2.4 million barrels per day. The great majority of these products are transported through our Products Pipelines business, which moves gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, natural gas liquids and condensate through about 9,500 miles of pipelines. We also have approximately 65 liquids terminals in this business segment that store fuels and offer blending services for ethanol and biofuels.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: CHEMISTRY INTERN

This position will be a part of the Lab Team working at the Galena Park Splitter petroleum condensate facility on the Houston Ship Channel.  The splitter facility is connected to the Kinder Morgan Crude and Condensate Pipeline system and provides customers unparalleled connectivity to the full range of Gulf Coast markets including refineries, chemical companies, gasoline blenders, outbound pipelines and marine facilities.

The candidate can expect to become familiar with:

  • Analyzing samples in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • testing various petroleum products (including but not limited to crude, kerosene, atmospheric gas oil, diesel, naptha)
  • SQC analysis
  • Laboratory integrity

In addition, the candidate will be responsible for managing a special project that they will present to executives at the end of the internship.

 

Position Requirements

 

  • Working toward a degree in Chemistry
  • Ability and desire to work in a team environment to obtain information needed to accomplish objectives
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office – (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical writing ability
  • Analytical skills for a petroleum laboratory setting
  • Entering Junior or Senior year of college
