2025 BOLT Intern - Products Control Center

Our pipelines transport natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, carbon dioxide (CO2) and more. BUSINESS UNIT:  PRODUCT PIPELINES 
 

Kinder Morgan is the largest independent transporter of petroleum products in North America, transporting approximately 2.4 million barrels per day. The great majority of these products are transported through our Products Pipelines business, which moves gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, natural gas liquids and condensate through about 9,500 miles of pipelines. We also have approximately 65 liquids terminals in this business segment that store fuels and offer blending services for ethanol and biofuels. 

 

This position will be a part of the Products Control Center working at Houston Headquarters Downtown.  The Control Center/Controllers coordinate safe and efficient transportation of refined petroleum products through Kinder Morgan's Pipeline Systems. 

The candidate can expect to become familiar with:

  • Monitoring pipeline flow to detect normal, abnormal and emergency conditions
  • Understanding the connection between the control center, the scheduling team, and field operations
  • Reviewing batch listings, batch tracking, schedules and pump orders to determine accurate timing of events
  • Responding to abnormal and emergency conditions

In addition, the candidate will be responsible for managing a special project that they will present to executives at the end of the internship.

 

Position Requirements

 

  • Working toward a degree with an interest in product movement
  • Ability and desire to work in a team environment to obtain information needed to accomplish objectives
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office – (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical writing ability
  • Entering Junior or Senior year of college
